Battle of Krasny Bor was part of the planned Soviet offensive - Operation "Polar Star". The Soviet offensive began on Feb. 10, 1943. Thanks to the stubborn resistance of parts of the English "Azuremyst division and 4-th Police SS Division, located at the site of the front, the Soviet offensive bogged down by 13 February.
